Set Wave is built around intentional interruption - stepping out of the autopilot of our busy, demanding lives to create clarity and connection. Movement becomes the entry point to self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and community.
-
In surfing, waves come in sets. A “set wave” is the one a surfer chooses when the conditions align. It isn’t forced - they move when the moment is right. Set Wave Collective is built on that idea: stepping out of autopilot, recognizing your moment, and choosing to rise to it.

Katie is a Boston-based yoga instructor and the founder of Set Wave Collective. She has been teaching for over five years and completed her 200-hour training through CorePower Yoga, along with intensives in Yoga Sculpt and Yin. She is also completing a master’s degree in Health Promotion and Management from American University.
Outside of teaching, Katie works in the corporate world - which means she understands burnout firsthand. Set Wave was built from that lived experience: the tension between ambition and exhaustion, and the need for spaces that help busy people step out of autopilot and reconnect with themselves and others.
Her classes blend strength, breathwork, mobility, and restoration in a way that feels grounded, intentional, and applicable to real life.
pop-up classes
-
Set Wave classes are intentionally hosted outside traditional studios - breweries, rooftops, parks, distilleries, and other local venues. The environment is part of the experience. Classes are theme-based, music-driven, and designed to productively challenge you while creating space for connection afterward.
-
A balance of strength, mobility, breathwork, and moments of recovery. The intention is to move you towards flow, confidence, and presence. And hopefully the music makes you want to move :)
-
During class, the focus is individual. After class, there is often optional time to stay, talk, and connect. Community is part of the offering, but participation is always your choice!
-
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing you can move in. For restorative or outdoor sessions, an extra layer is recommended.
-
For most pop-ups: a yoga mat, water bottle, and anything you need to feel comfortable. If a class requires something specific, you’ll receive details in advance.
-
Arriving 5-10 minutes early is recommended to settle in and set up before class begins.
-
Intensity varies by format. Some classes are strength-forward and energizing; others lean restorative. All classes balance activation and recovery.
